Programme Manager, Government Innovation
Belinda is a Programme Manager in the Government Innovation Team and works on Nesta's social action and people-powered public services programmes. Belinda’s current area of focus is on managing the Connected Communities Innovation Fund. This is a fund providing up to £4 million in grants, alongside non-financial support, to innovations that mobilise the time and talents of people across the life course. These initiatives seek to enable people and places to thrive, harnessing citizens’ energy alongside public services.
Before joining Nesta Belinda worked as a Management Consultant where she supported organisations in the public and third sector to innovate, scale new ideas and achieve social investment. Prior to this Belinda volunteered as a Social Enterprise Consultant in India, supporting a women’s empowerment project which sought to establish fair trade for rural artisans.
Belinda also worked for six years for a housing association. She led a housing management team delivering tenancy management services and supporting residents with complex vulnerabilities to sustain their tenancies in east London and Essex. She was also communities and partnerships lead for a major housing regeneration on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where she developed strategies for arts and culture investment and community facilities.
In her spare time Belinda enjoys singing in a choir, cycling and yoga.
