Elena is a Programme Manager in the Health Lab at Nesta, her work focuses on People Powered Results.

People Powered Results is a partnership approach to complex service transformation in health and care settings, working with leaders to empower front-line health and care practitioners to achieve meaningful change in 100 days.

Elena’s background is in social care. Prior to Nesta, she worked as Business Development Manager for Certitude, a London-based charity providing personalised support to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Her role focused on supporting service development through collaboration between operational colleagues, people with lived experience and external partners.
Both in and outside of work, Elena has developed a real passion for mental health and has helped create Words That Carry On, a memorial fund dedicated to carrying out vital research on personality disorders and autism to help people live happy, healthy lives.

Elena has an MSc in International Development from the London School of Economics and a BA Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. In her spare time she enjoys knitting hats for people who didn’t ask for them and discovering London’s quirks.
