Sylvia was the Director of Brand and Marketing, she was responsible for Nesta brand guardianship and telling the Nesta story.
Sylvia combines brand marketing and innovation experience from the commercial and not for profit sectors. Before Nesta, she was Head of UK Innovation at Comic Relief - responsible for developing new revenue streams (including Comic Relief’s first year-round product), managing an innovation process, and keeping Comic Relief abreast of new markets and technologies. Prior to that, she worked as an FMCG marketeer at Diageo and William Grant & Sons - in global brand management roles; and as a consultant for consumer brands with innovation and brand strategy consultancy, The Value Engineers.
Sylvia was previously a Director in Nesta's Innovation Lab, leading Nesta's work on education and young people.
Sylvia is a graduate of Cambridge University where she studied Social and Political Sciences.
Outside of work, Sylvia sits on the PTA of her daughter's school. She plays the piano and speaks a little Serbian.
