Vicki is Chief Partnership Officer

She is responsible for the foundation's work to build partnerships to scale good ideas across the UK and for the ‘Nesta group’ which includes a wide array of commercial enterprises and ventures Nesta has incubated alongside the charitable foundation to support others to innovate and increase its own impact. Vicki is part of Nesta’s senior leadership team, supporting the 300 strong organisation to execute our new strategy and change millions of lives.

Vicki was previously Nesta’s Executive Director of Programmes, overseeing grantmaking across the foundation to support government and community innovation, education improvement and the benefits of the arts in community. This included a £20m portfolio of practical innovation programmes to improve social outcomes, many focused on combining people power and technology to create new models of public services. During her time at Nesta, she has supported more than 500 innovations to test and refine their ideas and to scale to increase their reach and impact.

Vicki is a long time advocate for the potential of people-powered public services, and for growing kindness and neighbourliness in communities. She is an active volunteer as a youth worker and first aider, and sits on the board of visionary Scottish charity WEvolution.

Before joining Nesta, Vicki worked in local government, for charities and think tanks in a range of social policy fields. She is a regular conference speaker and panelist, and has published 20 Tools for Innovating in Government: A Handbook for Practitioners (Sept 2019) as well as Funding Innovation: A Practice Guide to Making Money Work Harder (Nov 2018).
