Filippo Bianchi

Filippo leads the behavioural science workstream of the A Healthy Life Mission

Filippo is the Lead Behavioural Scientist in the Healthy Life Mission and focuses on applying behavioural insights to develop policies and interventions to reduce the prevalence of obesity in the UK. Filippo also works as a Senior Advisor at the Behavioural Insights Team, where he advises the government, large charities, and private organisations on how to apply behavioural insights to improve public health policies and products and on how to evaluate these robustly.

Filippo led many projects aiming to promote healthier and more sustainable diets, including designing a large-scale evaluation of a financial incentive scheme for healthy eating and physical activity, contributing to the development of health promotion apps, and developing a simulated online delivery platform to conduct randomised controlled trials of interventions promoting lower-calorie options. Filippo published several academic papers on behavioural health interventions, including systematic reviews, randomised control trials, and methodological papers.

Filippo completed a DPhil (PhD) in Health Behaviours at the University of Oxford, an MPhil in Public Health at Cambridge, an MSc in Health Psychology at St Andrews, and a BSc in Psychology at the University of Frankfurt.
