As a researcher in the Challenge Prize Centre, Oliver works to shepherd new projects from ideas to fully developed challenge prizes.
Prior to Nesta, Oliver worked for the Chief Economist of the Australian Department of Industry. His main role was to analyse innovation in various sectors throughout the Australian economy and produce research on the innovation system. He has worked on international trade, intellectual property and innovation policy.
As an economist and self-professed politics nerd, he's passionate about promoting innovation and ensuring all businesses operate in an environment where they can feel safe to try new things. In the Challenge Prize Centre he works to define projects that let them do just that.
He has a Master of International Affairs from the Australian National University and is working on his Master of Economics from the University of New England.
