What I do

Bhavik is the Impact and Learning Researcher at the Challenge Prize Centre. In his role at Nesta, Bhavik analyses the results from Prize impact evaluations and creates the first learnings based on evidence. He also provides support with ongoing evaluations of our international development and community prizes such as the Data Driven Farming Prize.

In a previous life, Bhavik worked in finance through investment banking and economic research. Bhavik has an MSc in Globalisation & Latin American Development from UCL and a BA (Hons) in Economics.
Bhavik has a passion for research as he has conducted independent research on Indians in the Americas with a focus on the Guyanas, as well as writing about social and political issues such as mental health and race.
Outside of work, he enjoys listening to jazz, funk and soul, but also volunteers at Akwaaba, a volunteer-led Sunday social centre for refugees, migrants and  asylum seekers
Mental health illnesses are reaching unprecedented levels globally. According to estimates by the World Health Organisation (WHO), they account for 30 per cent of nonfatal disease burden worldwide and 10 per cent of overall disease burden including death and disability.
