What I do
Sylvia is Director of Brand and Marketing. She works in the Comms team and heads up the Brand and Marketing Unit - with responsibility for Nesta brand guardianship and telling the Nesta story.
Sylvia was previously a Director in Nesta's Innovation Lab, leading Nesta's work on education and young people.
Before joining Nesta, Sylvia was Head of UK Innovation at Comic Relief where she was responsible for developing new revenue streams (including Comic Relief’s first year-round product), managing an innovation process, and keeping Comic Relief abreast of new markets and technologies.
Prior to that, she worked as a marketeer for FMCG companies such as Diageo in global brand management roles; and as a consultant with innovation and brand strategy consultancy, The Value Engineers.
Sylvia is a graduate of Cambridge University where she studied Social and Political Sciences.
Outside of work, Sylvia sits on the parent forum of her daughter's nursery. She plays the piano and speaks a little Serbian.
