What I do
Tom is a Principal Researcher in the international innovation team. His work focuses on helping public sector organisations use new methods to address social challenges, with a particular focus on the use of digital technologies and data to engage citizens and organisations outside of government in problem solving. Recent reports include Open innovation in health, Governing with Collective Intelligence and Rethinking smart cities from the ground up.
Prior to Nesta, he worked for a media and policy NGO with a focus on the environment, where he managed fundraising and research. Tom holds a first-class BA in Chinese studies from the University of Sheffield.
