What I do
Orpa works as a Research Coordinator at the Challenge Prize Centre, focusing on some of the larger international prizes.
Prior to this role, Orpa was the coordinator for the D-CENT project with the Government Innovation team. This was a highly successful Europe-wide initiative on developing digital tools for direct democracy and economic empowerment. Her responsibilities involved supporting the project lead with coordination and management, as well as assisting with reporting to the European Commission.
Orpa had originally joined Nesta as the Research and Analysis Intern at the Challenge Prize Centre, where she contributed to research, scoping, design, delivery and implementation of various projects, and supported the centre’s business plan.
Before Nesta, Orpa achieved a Distinction in her MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development at UCL, and was awarded the Bartlett Masters Scholarship. She also worked on an international development research project for which she travelled to Lima, Peru to investigate the social and environmental issues faced by the urban poor.
