Laura works a senior analyst in the fairer start mission.

Before joining Nesta, Laura was a research fellow for the Policy Institute at King’s College, London where her research focused on gender in the labour market and parent’s job quality.

She is a long-time volunteer for the Literacy Pirates, an educational charity that works with children who are falling behind in school, and with the Markfield Project, which supports children with special educational needs and their families.

In a previous life, she worked as a researcher and producer for history and current affairs television. She has a bachelor's in the history and philosophy of science and a Master's in Research Methods.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys wrangling her toddler, reading novels and playing guitar badly.
