Junior Data Scientist, a fairer start
Jess is a Junior Data Scientist in the fairer start mission.
Jess uses data science techniques to help the mission achieve its goal to narrow the outcome gap between children growing up in disadvantage and the national average.
Prior to Nesta, she completed her Statistics PhD at Lancaster University. Her PhD focussed on identifying changes in human behaviour using home sensor datasets. Throughout her PhD, she really enjoyed creating and using statistical and machine learning techniques. This led her to the junior data scientist role within Nesta. Jess is very excited to be a part of Nesta, helping to derive insights from data for social good.
In her spare time, Jess enjoys making bread and desserts, learning new skills and going for walks.
