About Nesta

Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.

Karmel is an experienced programme manager at Challenge Works.

Karmel has worked across a number of Challenge Prizes at Challenge Works and previously on grant programmes in the innovations programme team at Nesta. She is experienced in all stages of prize and programme delivery.

Her experience ranges from managing an internal startup through to spin-out - the Rocket Fund - to managing a number of innovation-for-social-good programmes, including the £2 million Future News Fund (DCMS), £3 billion Rapid Recovery Challenge (DWP/JPMorgan/Nesta), the Longitude Prize on ALS, Robot Dexterity (ARIA), and the First and Second Manchester Prizes on AI for social good (DSIT).


Previous to joining Nesta Karmel worked in programme and project delivery in around the UK designing and implementing programmes with a focus on creative/multi-media community engagement.
