About Nesta

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.

At Challenge Works, Caroline is a programme manager working on the delivery of several prizes focused on government and innovation.

Caroline is currently focusing on the Ofwat Innovation Fund. The £200 million fund was set up by Ofwat to grow the water sector’s capacity to innovate, enabling it to better meet the evolving needs of customers, society and the environment.

Before that, Caroline has delivered one of our flagship programmes, the $4 million Mobility Unlimited Challenge, looking to use AI to design mobility devices for people with lowe limb paralysis, and the Tech2Connect Challenge, focused on loneliness and social isolation. Caroline also focuses her work on making Challenge Works a more inclusive place by being part of the Diversity and Inclusion working group.

Prior to working with Nesta, Caroline has extensive experience managing projects in West Africa on topics as varied as youth entrepreneurship, conflict prevention and gender mainstreaming, working for the United Nations Development Programme and Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance. She is also an enthusiasic trainer, always up for the next training challenge.

Outside of work, Caroline is a keen bookworm and is always happy to give advice for your next book.
