Janet is a Programme Manager in the Challenge Prize Centre having previously worked in the international development sector on various complex consortium programmes.
Janet has a strong background in business processes, programme design and implementation, and direct client management. She has worked in partnership with a number of international development institutions, including the UK Department for International Development, USAID, Nike Foundation, and Australia's Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Before joining Nesta she was COO for the SPRING Accelerator, supporting growth stage businesses in East Africa and South Asia to design products and services for adolescent girls. Prior to that Janet worked in other international development charities as well as in management consultancy.
Janet has a MSc in Globalisation and Development from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), and a BS from Fordham University in Psychology and Middle East Studies.
Outside of work Janet enjoys boxing - you can often find her sparring in the ring!
