Matt leads on the creation and delivery of Nesta's organisational strategy.

Matt joined Nesta from Evidence Action where he helped reshape the organisation's approach to innovation and led Dispensers for Safe Water, an evidence-based programme providing access to safe drinking water to four million people in East Africa. Prior to that, he oversaw global strategy delivery across more than 40 countries at the International Rescue Committee and later developed several organisational strategies through his own advisory business. Before the IRC, Matt was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company where he advised Fortune 100 companies on strategy and operations.

He began his career with Médecins Sans Frontières, Leonard Cheshire Disability and ActionAid, including a period living and working in Cameroon, and recently created a mental health startup as part of the Zinc incubator. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Cambridge University, an MA in Human Rights from the University of London and an MBA from New York University, specialising in Social Impact and Innovation.

Outside work he can be found playing music and enjoying the unlikely success of his hometown club, Leicester City.
