Cara is the Campaigns Manager for Nesta's Communications team

Before joining Nesta, Cara worked in Parliament for an MP as Research and Campaigns Manager. Over three years she worked on successful campaigns to change law on abortion in Northern Ireland, policy on hate crime reform, regulation of buy-now-pay-later products, parental leave for parliamentarians, housing for those at risk of child criminal exploitation and discriminatory social security policies.

Prior to this, Cara worked in digital, communications, and campaigning at UK Labour, Save the Children UK, Together for Yes, The Children's Rights Alliance and Young Social Innovators. Cara co-founded a grassroots campaigning organisation focussed on reproductive rights which received the Liberty Long Walk to Freedom Award. Cara has a masters in Law from Trinity College Dublin, and was named Parliamentary Policy Researcher of the Year and Marie Claire Future Shaper.

Outside of work, Cara can be found walking her two dogs, and experimenting with guerilla gardening. Cara is a Trustee of Refugee Rights Europe.
