About Nesta

Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.

Kate is an insights and engagement adviser at Nesta's Centre for Collective Intelligence Design.

Before Nesta, Kate worked as a researcher at Hopkins Van Mil, an organisation that specialises in public dialogue and deliberation.

Kate’s interest in unpacking conversations on complex topics and understanding why people think the way they do stems from her background in anthropology, which she studied at the University of Oxford (BA, 2018-2021) and Leiden University (MSc, 2021-2022).

Whilst studying in the Netherlands, she completed an internship as part of the Pressing Matter project, funded by the Dutch National Science Agenda (NWA) and coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This involved facilitating conversations between diaspora communities and museum staff on topics such as ownership, value and colonial heritage in museums.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys swimming and walking up big hills. She also enjoys going to concerts and anything tennis-related.
