About this area of focus

We are working to ensure everyone can be part of the low-carbon heating transition regardless of income. Social housing makes up around 17% of UK homes. Decarbonising these homes will require a different approach but currently, business models around clean heat are largely geared to affluent early adopters. We are developing models that can better meet the needs of lower-income and vulnerable households and ensure they have access to a positive experience with low-carbon heating.
