Last year we worked with Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to run The Artist+ the Crowd and the Heritage+ the Crowd Matched Crowdfunding Pilot funds.

The pilot ran from September 2016 until October 2017 and saw arts and heritage projects raising money for a diverse range of projects from plays and art exhibitions, to launching new apps and preserving heritage sites.

Six months after the crowdfunding campaigns had wrapped up, we carried out a survey to gauge the longer term impacts of the pilot, the results of which we have highlighted in a blog piece. We have also carried out interviews to produce six case studies looking at specific longer term benefits and challenges of the crowdfunding experience for individual projects.
