About this area of focus

We are working with national and local governments across England, Scotland and Wales to optimise the delivery of joined-up support for families with young children. In England, the government’s Best Start in Life strategy requires a substantial step change in early years outcomes to meet a target of 75% of children achieving a good level of development by 2028. We’re working with local authorities to design practical, scalable ways of improving outcomes for children in the early years. In Scotland, we’re generating intelligence and insights about existing pregnancy and early years support.
