This report is a short overview of The Giving Challenge Prizes, the staged process, finalists’ development and announcement of the two winners and two runners up.

Key findings:

  • Impact of Finalist ideas – from idea to making a difference!
  • How Nesta’s staged process shaped and harnessed the overall impact created by the finalists.
  • Profiling who the finalists and winners are.

The Giving Challenges were designed and delivered by Nesta’s Centre for Challenge Prizes to stimulate social innovation in the giving of time, skills and resources to tackle two distinct social issues: reducing isolation of older people and reducing waste (Ageing Well Challenge and Waste Reduction Challenges).

This publication reveals the staged process of the challenge and highlights the finalist’s achievements over the life of the prize. You will also find out who won both prizes (see pages 46-47!).
