We will continue to manage our existing portfolio of 40 investments, providing our most promising assets in the portfolio with follow-on support to ensure we maximise our returns and deliver on the impact we set out to achieve.

Nesta will continue our venture building role through Mission Studio, which creates, spins out and scales start ups to tackle the UK's most pressing challenges.

Providing financial, knowledge and network capital to innovative tech ventures, Nesta Impact Investments has backed businesses closely aligned to Nesta’s missions, improving school readiness, tackling obesity and reducing household carbon emissions, by investing in edtech, foodtech, healthtech and climate tech companies that can contribute to Nesta’s missions.

We have invested between £150,000 and £2 million in seed-to-series-A tech start-ups that are developing innovations aligned with Nesta’s three mission areas.  We are an experienced team of investors with backgrounds in venture capital investment, early-stage businesses and financial services. We establish effective relationships with portfolio companies whereby we can share sector knowledge augmented by Nesta’s mission expertise. We are proactive in supporting our portfolio companies as they grow and mature, often taking board or observer positions.
