Across our missions, we create and test countless ideas: asking people how they could work, evaluating them with small groups and adapting our approach.
In the past year, we've been working on our approach to scaling our best ideas through the discovery scaling accelerator. This involves taking project teams through a process that helps them build ambition, strengthen potential routes to scale, and connect with the people who can make things happen.
Throughout this process, we’ve collected, adapted and created exercises that can help guide project teams towards scale. Many of these exercises will be useful to people outside Nesta too, so we’re publishing this ‘scaling toolbox’ to enable others to scale their ideas. Inspiration for these exercises has come from several publications, including Nesta’s report Making it Big, The Young Foundation, the European Commission, Donella Meadows and Les Robinson.
We hope you find this collection useful. You can choose which tools you want to use and which order you use them in. Get in touch if you have other models for thinking about scaling or if you’d like to find out more about how we scale at Nesta.
