The Centre for Collective Intelligence Design, in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Solferino Academy, has recently launched a new project about collective crisis intelligence (CCI) for humanitarian action.

CCI is a subset of a wider field known as collective intelligence design - an approach which brings together diverse groups of people, new sources of data and digital technologies to tackle complex problems. CCI combines methods that gather intelligence from affected communities and frontline responders with artificial intelligence (AI) for more effective crisis mitigation, response or recovery.

We invite you to explore five inspiring examples of CCI below.

The full findings of our research and a selection of detailed CCI and predictive analytics case studies are published in two new reports: Collective crisis intelligence for frontline humanitarian response and Participatory AI for humanitarian innovation.

You can find additional relevant examples in our AI and CI case study selection: Map with AI, Dataminr, Early Warning Project.
