Digital Culture 2019 - 11 Feb 2020 17:30 – 20:00

What is the event?
In this event, we will be launching the Digital Culture 2019 report and the Digital Culture Compass. Digital Culture 2019 is the fifth iteration of Digital Culture, a longitudinal survey co-commissioned by Arts Council England and Nesta, which tracks how arts, culture and museum organisations are using digital technology across all areas of their operations. At the event we will discuss the key trends from the fieldwork and explore what the enablers and barriers to further progress in this field may be. This will be followed by the launch of the Digital Culture Compass, a tool developed by The Space, Culture24, The Audience Agency and the University of Leicester on behalf of Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will support organisations in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors to embed digital best practices in their workplaces.

Who is it for and why should I come?
The event is for leaders of arts, culture and heritage organisations, cultural policy and strategy professionals and for anyone else interested in how the cultural industries are adapting to and using new technology. Come along to hear from the research agency behind the Digital Culture study, learn about the Digital Culture Compass - a new initiative designed to support an increase in digital capability across the arts, culture and heritage sectors - and to network with other interested organisations and individuals.

Who is speaking?

Short presentations will be given by Arts Council England’s Executive Director, Enterprise and Innovation, Francis Runacres, members of Nesta’s Creative Economy team, research and strategy consultancy MTM London. Speakers will be followed by a panel of experts from the arts, culture and heritage sectors exploring the next stages of digital development for the arts, culture and heritage sectors.
