Join us for the launch of our community empowerment through crowdfunded investment report at Nesta.
The report, in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA), explores how investment crowdfunding (e.g. using community shares or bonds) can be used to create more sustainable and resilient local assets, common spaces and shared resources. The research, with input from a range of institutions, funders and community projects, considers what these models are, the opportunities and challenges associated with using them and different ways in which local authorities and institutions can support this growing sector to achieve community-led change for local areas.
This launch event will feature an overview of the key findings of the research, a chance to hear from groups who have used such models (e.g. community shares) to fund their community projects, as well as discussion from institutional stakeholders around the potential of the different models of support.
Registration will open at 10:00AM with the event starting promptly at 10:30AM. The event will finish at 1:00PM followed by a light lunch and networking.
