Urban Design, Transport Planning and Policy Intern
Xan worked on the Flying High Challenge, within the Cities team. His role involved investigating the development and integration of drones across the UK. This included carrying out research and engaging in outreach with city, technology and civil society stakeholders.
Xan holds a BSc Hons in Urban Planning, Design and Management from The Bartlett, UCL with an exchange semester at The University of Melbourne. He carried out research into community-led design and produced a masterplan as part of his final degree submission.
He has also worked in urban and transport planning and in project management in the public, private and charity sectors in the UK and Australia. In addition to this he has worked in international development in East Africa and has experience in management, finance and operations in this field.
We extend our impact through two specialised units that help people and organisations to solve complex problems and achieve their goals.
BIT helps clients from government, nonprofits and the private sector to improve people’s lives through our empirical problem solving and deep understanding of human behaviour.
Challenge Works designs and runs challenge prizes to spark innovation in science, technology and society.
