Assistant Programme Manager, A Fairer Start mission
Silvia is an Assistant Programme Manager.
Silvia works as Assistant Programme Manager in the Nesta EdTech team, as part of "A Fairer Start" mission. She supports EdTech organisations to further develop their products and services to improve the experience of pupils and teachers in England.
Before joining the EdTech team, Silvia was coordinating the Global Innovation Policy Accelerator, a capacity building programme for senior innovation policymakers in developing countries. She was involved in the scoping phase of the Open School, a school open to everyone with a focus on students disadvantaged by the current system.
Prior to Nesta, Silvia managed the Changemaker Schools Programme for Ashoka in Portugal and worked as project and event manager for an Italian social enterprise providing teachers with training about outdoor education.
Silvia holds a master’s degree in management of Social Economy at the University of Bologna with a final dissertation on social innovation in the education field. She is a passionate learner of topics related to social innovation, social entrepreneurship and participatory policymaking. In the last seven years, she has been living in seven cities in five different countries.
