Head of Profession (Project & Programme Management), Central Programmes
Sean is the Head of Profession for project & programme management (PPM), ensuring the standards, tools, processes and systems we use are fit-for-purpose and are as simple as possible.
Sean wears two hats, on one side he leads the programme management office who directly support each mission leadership team to take effective and timely decisions on their portfolios. On the other, he is also responsible for providing support to all those in PPM roles to both learn and grow as a cadre of delivery professionals.
Prior to Nesta, Sean was the transformation portfolio manager in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and was responsible for designing and implementing a tiered portfolio management approach to the management and delivery of change programmes and projects across the MOD.
Outside of work Sean has a keen interest in social entrepreneurship and is the Chair of the Board of Directors for a London based social enterprise - GCDA - whose mission is to support communities to thrive economically, environmentally and socially.
Sean holds an MA in International Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh as well as a number of project, programme & portfolio management qualifications.
