Chief Operating Officer
Samuel is Nesta' Chief Operating Officer.
Samuel was a founding member of the Cabinet Office Behavioural Insights Team and led its UK work on unemployment, economic growth and education. He helped the team ‘spin-out’ of government in 2014, and was responsible for hiring as it grew from 16 to more than 100 staff. In 2016, he moved to Singapore to found and run BIT’s Singapore office. After leaving BIT, he worked as Head of Economics for Grab, the South East Asian ride-hailing start-up.
As Nesta’s Chief Operating Officer, Samuel is responsible for our day-to-day operations and corporate culture. He leads our corporate services including our People; Communications; Technology; Business Development; and Building and Facilities Teams
The three missions in our strategy each require substantial change to long-term social issues - issues that have been worked on by excellent minds for many years. Samuel’s goal is to build a Nesta that can live up to these ambitious goals and be confident we can succeed where others haven’t.
