Research Assistant, Innovation and Economic Growth
Nick was a Research Assistant within Nesta's Innovation and Economic Growth team, specifically supporting work on startups and entrepreneurship. His main focus was on two European projects that looked at the readiness of cities across the EU to support digital entrepreneurship, and the motivations and barriers behind corporate-startup interaction.
Before joining Nesta, Nick spent the last year ‘up north’ completing an M.Sc. Public Economics programme at the University of York, which had a focus on development and well-being. Before that, he gained a B.Sc. Economics degree at Queen Mary, University of London.
Nick also worked in a business development role for a healthcare technology startup that gained a place on a Healthbox accelerator programme, based at Google Campus and provided support for The Bakery, an accelerator for tech startups working in advertising and communications.
