Operations and Programme Development Manager
Emma is Operations and Programme Development Manager in the Innovation Skills team.
Her role both contributes to the strategy and development of the team's portfolio of programmes and ensures their efficient and effective delivery. Emma also leads on developing our portfolio of commercial work in a global context.
Prior to joining Nesta, Emma was Programme Development Lead at Design Council, where she spent nine years in a variety of programme management and development roles. Her focus was largely on developing, designing, managing and delivering design-led innovation programmes to help organisations in both the public and private sector use design as a strategic tool to reimagine problems and deliver innovative change. She also managed a network of Design Associates to support this work.
Prior to relocating to the UK in 2011, Emma worked in operational policy and implementation for an agency of the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand. Emma holds two degrees in law (LLB) and human geography (BA) from the University of Otago.
We extend our impact through two specialised units that help people and organisations to solve complex problems and achieve their goals.
