Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.
Junior Data Scientist, Data Analytics Practice
Chris was a junior data scientist in the Data Analytics Practice, embedded in the sustainable future mission team.
He worked on ways of reducing carbon emissions while increasing productivity in the UK.
Before joining Nesta, Chris worked as a content designer for Sparx, helping to build products that utilise data to personalise maths education and improve student outcomes. Prior to this he studied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Oxford and wrote his master’s dissertation on mathematical models of forest fires. During this time he led access and outreach projects to encourage and support prospective students from under-represented backgrounds.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys playing the piano, rock climbing and puzzle-solving.
We extend our impact through two specialised units that help people and organisations to solve complex problems and achieve their goals.
BIT helps clients from government, nonprofits and the private sector to improve people’s lives through our empirical problem solving and deep understanding of human behaviour.
