Akalya is the Group Senior Internal Audit and Risk Manager, developing and executing internal audit plans and risk management duties to enhance controls and minimise risk exposure.
Akalya graduated from Brunel University London with a BSc in Business Management and Accounting. Before joining the Nesta group, she completed a graduate scheme at BDO LLP, where she was an internal auditor in the public sector team working with NHS Trusts and local councils to improve their internal controls.
Akalya is studying towards qualifications to be a chartered accountant with the ICAEW and a certified internal auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors.
