Sam is Chair of India's National Innovation Council, a group of maverick thinkers and innovators responsible for creating a roadmap for Indian innovation policy.

With initiatives including a one billion dollar inclusive innovation fund, state innovation councils, challenge prizes and 'meta-universities,' they are experimenting with new approaches to supporting innovation for inclusive growth in a challenging system.

Widely regarded as the 'father of the Indian telecoms revolution,' Sam is the founder and CEO of global corporation, C-SAM, and he holds over 100 technology patents.

He has received numerous lifetime achievement awards, including the prestigious Padma Bushan for services to science and engineering and the Rajiv Gandhi 'global Indian' award.

He lectures around the world, advises organisations ranging from startups to the United Nations and lives in Chicago and Delhi.
