In her role as People Partner at Nesta, Serena plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and driving the people agenda across the organisation.
Her focus is on enhancing colleague engagement and achieving key organisational development goals. Before joining Nesta, Serena was a business partner within the Talent and Organisational Development team at the British Heart Foundation. Over the past nine years, she has successfully partnered with various departments — from retail to marketing, strategy unit and technology. Bringing a holistic approach to talent management and organisational growth.
Serena’s diverse background includes significant experience in the education, social care and nature conservation sectors, gaining a variety of perspectives on human resources and development.
An EMCC accredited coach, Serena is passionate about supporting individuals in realising their potential. She holds a degree in Philosophy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, equipping her with both analytical and practical skills in the field.
Outside of work, Serena enjoys exploring London’s parks and green spaces with her two young children. She is also an avid listener of audiobooks and practises Pilates.

BIT helps clients from government, nonprofits and the private sector to improve people’s lives through our empirical problem solving and deep understanding of human behaviour.
