Impact Manager
Melissa was an Impact Manager for the Cultural Impact Development Fund, a social investment fund providing small-scale lending to arts and culture organisations across England.
She was responsible for the fund's overall approach to social impact and works with applicants and investees to build their capacity for monitoring and evaluation so they can better articulate their impact to funders, policymakers, and the public.
Prior to Nesta, Melissa was a Research Fellow on the Boosting Resilience project in the Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice at Cass Business School and a Consultant at BOP Consulting, an international consultancy specialising in culture and the creative economy. She has also worked widely across the arts and cultural sectors in the UK and Canada.
Outside of work, Melissa is a Trustee of Camden People’s Theatre, a central London studio supporting emerging artists making innovative theatre, and Magpie Dance, a charity empowering people with learning disabilities through inclusive dance programmes.
In a former life, Melissa completed a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge, with the support of a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and a Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. She has also published and presented internationally on popular music.
