Deputy General Counsel, Legal
Matthew joined Nesta as Deputy General Counsel in February 2020, after working in commercial law within several regulated fields including education and healthcare.
He specialises in giving pragmatic advice relating to commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection, commercial litigation and dispute resolution and regulatory guidance.
Matthew looks after the day to day management of the legal team to ensure that Nesta is achieving its mission aims within the relevant regulatory and legal framework.
An average of one day per month he sits in court as a magistrate (in North Hampshire) hearing all sorts of criminal matters. He is also a governor at his local primary school and is heavily involved in the management and social elements of the school.
Outside of work, time permitting, he enjoys travel, weight-training and generally being outdoors.
