He works across government, industry and innovation, developing and deploying better approaches to decarbonisation. His experience spans organisations including the Climate Change Committee, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Energy Technologies Institute, the Energy Systems Catapult and Heat Geek.

He has improved heat policy, pioneered new solutions and driven real-world uptake. This includes removing planning barriers to heat pumps, helping build the Energy Systems Catapult Living Lab, developing ‘warmth on prescription’ and working with leading companies across the heat pump supply chain.

At Nesta, Matt applies innovation to help policymakers and industry accelerate the transition to clean heating, contributing to the organisation’s mission to make sustainable choices more attractive, more affordable and easier.
