Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.
Senior Programme Manager, Innovation Lab
Manny worked on the Centre for Social Action Innovation Fund. His focus was on scaling digital ventures that get people involved in social action. He also led our work on Digital Public Services, looking at how we might accelerate progress of digital transformation across government.
Manny has worked in the innovation field since 2007. Before joining Nesta, he led The Young Foundation’s work on Communities and Housing. At the Foundation he led various innovation programmes related to the devolution of power, community organising and civic technology. His publications on these topics include Neighbourliness + Empowerment = Wellbeing: is there a formula for happy communities? (2008) , Local 2.0: how digital technology empowers local communities (2012), and Growing Community Organising (2013).
Manny started his career as a community worker in the South Wales valleys. He has extensive experience of working directly with residents in low-income communities, as well as civil society organisations, local authorities and central government. He holds a Master's degree in Regeneration Studies from Cardiff University and in his spare time is a primary school governor.
