Joanna Kempshall

Financial Manager, Finance

Jo manages all the financial aspects of Nesta's property, including it's development, management and maintenance.

She provides financial support and information to the Operations team, CFO and Deputy CEO and works closely with tenants and partners in the building.

Jo has an MSc in Business Management and is an Associate CIMA member with over 12 years post qualification experience. She worked in the Finance team at Nesta as Management Accountant from 2009, moving to the role in the Operations team in January 2016 to oversee the finances relating to the purchase of 58VE and the running of the building beyond.

Previous to Nesta, Jo has held a range of accounting roles working for the NHS, SRA, BT and a TV company, as well as short term accountancy roles in Australia whilst travelling.

Outside of work Jo spends most of her time running around after her three young children. She is Treasurer of her childrens' school PTA and when she can she enjoys reading, travel, gym and a good period drama!

We extend our impact through two specialised units that help people and organisations to solve complex problems and achieve their goals.

BIT

BIT helps clients from government, nonprofits and the private sector to improve people’s lives through our empirical problem solving and deep understanding of human behaviour.

Challenge Works designs and runs challenge prizes to spark innovation in science, technology and society.
