Research Intern
Irina was an intern in the International Innovation team, working on innovation in international development.
Irina recently completed an MSc in Social Development Practice at University College London. She wrote her dissertation, for which she received a commendation, on the use of participatory budgeting and the extent to which it can be used as a tool for achieving a deeper democracy. Her graduate studies also involved working on a research project in Kenya, looking at issues around security of tenure in the city of Kisumu. She holds a BSc in Geography with Economics from the London School of Economics.
Irina speaks fluent Romanian and English, having moved to England from Romania when she was 7 years old. Outside of work she enjoys travelling and is taking classes in boxing, which she hopes to master in the near future.
