Data Scientist, Data Science Practice
He/Him
Harry is a data scientist in the Data Science Practice.
Prior to joining Nesta, Harry pursued a PhD in Statistics and worked as a research fellow in machine learning for health at UCL. He has a particular focus on fair and explainable machine learning, with the goal of facilitating effective and transparent decision-making in critical areas of health and policy.
Previously, he worked at NHS England investigating fairness and privacy in the context of clinical datasets and AI, at Twitter examining political polarisation, and with various governmental, clinical, and public health consortia addressing the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, Harry was selected as a fellow of the Data Science for Social Good Foundation hosted by the Alan Turing Institute. The foundation has collaborated with governments, NGOs, and charities on a wide range of impactful data science projects. He has since gone on to assist with co-organising the foundation’s UK and European programmes.
Outside of work, he enjoys hosting dinner parties, making music, pottery, cycling and wild camping.
