About Nesta

Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.

Dina is currently a programme coordinator at Challenge Works, where she supports the Toyota Mobility Foundation's Sustainable Cities Challenge.

Prior to joining Challenge Works, Dina worked as a programme coordinator at the UN World Health Organisation's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Region (WHO/EMRO). In this role, she contributed to several projects funded by the EU, World Bank, and FCDO, focusing on developing and strengthening health systems to enhance their resilience. In 2023, she was part of the emergency response team based in Egypt, addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

Dina also has experience in the mining and construction sectors, where she contributed to developing a manual for corporate social responsibility for gold mining companies in Sudan, particularly in underdeveloped community territories. This experience inspired her transition into humanitarian aid and development. She is passionate about international development, women’s rights, and empowering communities, advocating for their involvement in decision-making processes that affect them.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and an MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Khartoum. Outside of work, Dina enjoys exploring London, walking, and practicing Kickboxing and Brazilian Jujitsu.
