Nesta is a research and innovation foundation. We apply our deep expertise in applied methods to design, test and scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time, working across the innovation lifecycle.
Senior Researcher, Centre for Collective Intelligence Design
Alexandra was a senior Researcher, leading work on citizen science and supporting wider research into other collective intelligence such as participatory AI.
Before joining Nesta, Alex was a post-doctoral researcher based at University College London working on ActEarly UK Preventative Research Programme, supporting the healthy livelihoods, healthy learning and co-production and citizen science themes to improve health opportunities for families in Tower Hamlets and Bradford.
Her PhD research, completed in 2019, explored the practices and processes of citizen social science – namely how people can be mobilised to engage in conducting social research and the challenges and opportunities of using the data generated to tackle social issues. Her research interests include citizen science, participatory inventive methods and international development.
We extend our impact through two specialised units that help people and organisations to solve complex problems and achieve their goals.
