The health costs are staggering - equivalent to 3% of Scotland’s GDP - and behind that figure lies a growing burden of preventable illness affecting families across the country.
Ambitious health targets for supermarkets are one of the most potentially impactful interventions and could, if implemented effectively, reduce obesity by around 20% in Scotland and help achieve wider ambitions like halving the gap in healthy life expectancy.
