We are hiring a Marketing Communications Manager - BIT

Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager, BIT will be focused full time on BIT - a global research and innovation consultancy which uses a deep understanding of human behaviour to improve people’s lives. They will design and deliver integrated marketing and communications plans and campaigns that directly support BIT’s brand health and business development goals.

Working in partnership with BIT’s global teams, they will apply their own understanding of marketing and communications to identify the best tactics to increase profile and brand recognition in target regions, using audience analysis and market research to inform their approach. They will own the delivery of marketing projects, as well as working closely with the broader group communications team - who work across BIT and Nesta to provide specialist expertise in areas such as media, events, content design and digital - to draw in additional support and advice where needed.

The ideal candidate will be an effective project manager, able to deliver across multiple initiatives simultaneously, and a collaborative communicator, capable of translating complex messages into clear, compelling narratives. They will thrive in fast-paced environments and be adept at juggling multiple priorities, supported by a well-established team with clear objectives and a strong culture of collaboration to enable them to do their best work.

The role

  • Developing and delivering of best-in-class integrated marketing and communications plans and campaigns for BIT’s business areas aimed at: raising the brand profile and reputation of BIT among target audiences; communicating the results of BIT’s research to diverse stakeholders to maximise the reach and impact of our work; and supporting business development priorities.
  • Maximise value from BIT’s partnerships by working closely with client project teams to ensure marketing communications outputs are strategic, high-quality, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new product and service offers, using marketing research analysis to identify key market segments, developing key messaging and commissioning marketing collateral where needed to increase the chances of success.
  • Work with the Senior Communications Lead to deliver BIT’s executive communications strategy, supporting senior leaders to elevate their public profile. This includes strengthening their professional social media presence, scoping external speaking opportunities, and collaborating with them to shape thought-leadership concepts and content.
  • With others in the communications team, contribute to the regular production of high-quality thought leadership, encompassing BIT’s policy priorities and ensuring they align with the business’s overall strategy and vision.
  • Work with the Communications Officer, BIT to produce high-quality content for BIT’s owned channels, including social media, email and newsletter, ensuring that outputs reflect BIT’s tone of voice and brand positioning.

The person

  • Demonstrable experience in fast-paced commercially-focused marketing and communications roles, for instance in a consultancy or agency environment or similar.
  • An understanding of and experience in consultancy communications, with a track record of success employing key tactics to increase brand profile and enhance business development efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full range of communications functions (media, marketing, events, campaigns, editorial, content development, digital platforms) and how they can be applied as part of an integrated marketing and communications approach.
  • An effective project manager, who can plan and deliver across multiple projects at the same time, keeping work on track and ensuring clear communication across internal teams and with partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple projects, priorities and local contexts at once.
  • An analytical thinker, with a willingness to take a test and learn an approach to new tactics and approaches - sharing learning and seeking continuous improvement.
  • A concise communicator, with demonstrable experience taking complex messaging and translating that into effective communications.

As with all members of the Nesta Group communications team, the postholder will also be at their best working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, have a flexible approach and an appetite for taking on new tasks and challenges. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to write for a range of different audiences.

What we offer

Salary: circa £50,000 plus an array of benefits including private medical insurance, dental insurance, the ability to buy and sell annual leave, eyecare vouchers and more

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the London office. We ask that our team attend the office on Tuesday and one other day of their choice.

Term: 12 month fixed term contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Flexibility: This is a full-time role but we offer a range of flexible working arrangements and encourage our people to take advantage of them. Many do.
