We are recruting a Group Communications Assistant

This role will support the group communications team to deliver high-quality digital and live events, marketing campaigns and internal communications. You will assist with the end-to-end planning, delivery and evaluation of events, communications activity including digital content, marketing, reporting and systems management.

This is a hands-on role that will require strong organisation, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that Nesta’s events and communications are delivered efficiently, creatively and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing: The role will support the communications team across a variety of activities, which include:

Events planning and delivery

  • Planning, coordination and delivery of digital and live events, managing registrations, troubleshooting and overseeing logistics such as access and dietary requirements.
  • Programme and speaker research, maintaining speaker databases and monitoring EDI data for inclusive programming.
  • Post-event activities such as updating our webpages, sending thank-you emails, uploading recordings, creating surveys, producing impact reports and processing invoices.

Integrated marketing campaigns

  • Build and maintain high-quality digital content, including event webpages, website and email copy, newsletters and other promotional assets.
  • Support email marketing campaigns and scheduling social media content.
  • Manage and maintain stakeholder campaign lists.

Internal communications

  • Updating reporting dashboards
  • Assisting with the delivery of all-staff meetings and other internal events

You’ll also provide ad-hoc support to the wider communications team when required.

What we’re looking for:

Strong communication skills (essential): You will be able to confidently interact with colleagues, external speakers, guests and stakeholders. You will be comfortable producing clear, accurate written communications and adapting your style for different audiences.

Time management and organisation (essential): You will be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and systems efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail (essential): You will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly when proofreading and preparing public-facing materials.

Hands-on event support (essential): You will be willing and able to perform light to moderate physical tasks, such as setting up and packing away event equipment, ensuring event spaces are ready for delivery.

Digital and systems proficiency (desirable): You should be comfortable working across a range of digital platforms and systems, including Wagtail, Salesforce, Eventsforce, Mailchimp, and social media tools.

Teamwork and collaboration (essential): You will be able to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, supporting colleagues across events, internal communications and wider campaigns.
