Jon Burke, FRSA

Jon Burke is an municipal decarbonisation professional and urbanist who currently leads a city climate change programme and shaping the environmental policies of a national network of local authorities covering almost half the U.K's urban areas. In his former role as the London Borough of Hackney's Cabinet Member for Energy, Waste, Transport, and Public Realm, he delivered projects such as Hackney Light & Power, the borough's publicly-owned energy services company; an Emergency Transport Plan comprising five new Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, 40 School Streets, kilometres of segregated cycle ways, and new bus gates; fortnightly black bag waste collection, eliminating 6,000 tonnes of waste from incineration annually; and the U.K's largest urban forestry programme.
